This month’s chart focuses on the Corrections Industry.

The Corrections workforce is projected to grow steadily over the next five years, increasing by 14.3 per cent by 2023. In the same period, the prison population is expected to rise by 16.2 per cent.

Unsurprisingly, Prison Officers are the dominant occupation in Corrections while also experiencing the greatest growth. While all occupations have grown since 2006, Welfare Support Workers have declined since 2011. This is despite strong growth and demand for this occupation in other industries.
