Summary of feedback
This unit is a very good unit. Amend PC 2.1 in draft unit entitled Operate remote controls of propulsion plant, engineering systems and services to include bridge operations and resources.
Amend knowledge reference to include ‘damage and water tightness’ in draft unit entitled Plan and Manage safe loading, unloading, securing and stowage of cargo’. Hatch covers may appear to be watertight because they are securely secured but if an area of damage even small areas of damage go un-noticed it can be problematic to watertight integrity.
Reference to paper charts needs to be removed and replaced with electronic charts in relevant MAR units. Notification has been received that the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) will no longer be publishing paper nautical charts.
