TLI Scheduler

Overview

Following the submission of the Business Case for the Review and Development of the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package, the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned the following project.

The TLI Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards in consultation with industry stakeholders. The project will focus on the development of a new Transport and Logistics Scheduling qualification, to meet the skills and knowledge requirements of industry.

ENDORSEMENT

PROJECT FINALISATION PHASE

The new Transport Scheduling qualification has successfully passed independent edit and quality assurance reviews, and is expected to be submitted to the AISC mid-February 2018. This qualification, along with the Road Transport Terminal Operations qualification (renamed from Yard Operations) and new Skill Set for Rail Safety Critical Communications will form Release 4.0 of the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Independent Edit and Quality Assurance

The Scheduler TAC finalised the draft qualification and Units of Competency at their last meeting on Wednesday, 15 November 2017.

Following an independent edit and quality assurance process, the final draft materials will be sent to the TLI Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee (IRC) for approval.

The approved drafts will then be available for viewing, prior to being submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) for consideration.

Consultation on draft materials

On Thursday, 21 September 2017, the Scheduler Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met to review the feedback received from committee members. The Scheduler TAC agreed to send the draft qualification and Units of Competency out for public consultation.

Consultation on draft materials

The Scheduler Technical Advisory Committee met on 9 August 2017 and developed a draft qualification for the new Transport Scheduler qualification.

TAC Meeting

On Wednesday, 5 July 2017, the Scheduler Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met and commenced the development of a new Transport and Logistics Scheduling qualification.

The key actions of this meeting included the following:

  • Drafting a framework for the Transport Scheduler qualification as per industry needs and to ensure cross sector portability
  • Identify additional endorsed units of competency that could enhance this qualification to meet Industry requirements
  • Identify the development of new units of competency that could enhance this qualification to meet Industry requirements.

The next TAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 9 August 2017.
