Gas Industry Reference Committee (IRC)
The Gas IRC is made up of industry leaders and experts and acts as a conduit between the Gas industry and the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC).
The Gas Supply, Transmission, Distribution and Gaseous Fuels (hereafter Gas Supply) industry provides vital services to Australian homes and businesses across its four subsectors; LPG bottling and storage, retailers that buy and sell gas, transmission operators that transport gas from production facilities to the entry point of the distribution network, and distributors that operate the networks that carry gas to the end user.
The Gas IRC are responsible for ensuring the UEG Gas Industry Training Package meets the needs of the industry and provides Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification for occupations involved in the manufacture and distribution of town gas through a system of mains and pipelines.
