The Dalby Drone Industry forum was held on Monday 26th September, with the central theme of ‘Turning the Drone Opportunity into Reality’.

The forum included a full-day program of presentations by key industry experts from across the drone aviation sector. The forum aimed to dispel myths, raise awareness and facilitate networking across aviation and non-conventional aviation sectors and across industries such as agriculture, resources and local government. Current drone applications were highlighted, propelling industries to see drones as ‘best practice’ rather than ‘future technology’.

Dan Minton, Industry Manager from Australian Industry Standards (AIS) provided an overview of Managing Risk within Aviation to more than 380 forum attendees, and outlined future Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems (RPAS) skills that will be needed to turn the drone opportunity into commercial reality.
