This month TLISC had the pleasure to join the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and ANZMEX Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to the launch of the Senate’s report to the inquiry of Australia’s relationship with Mexico by Senator Chris Back, Deputy Chair of the Committee and Victor del Rio, President of ANZMEX.
Some important recommendations found in the report are:
Sen. Back highlighted that with the APEC alliance there is an enormous opportunity to enhance the VET sector in Mexico with the Australian skills and training framework. Additionally, he mentioned that Mexico had expressed a great interest for collaboration in different sectors, including the educational and the logistics one.
The report emphasises that Mexico lacks of training to improve productivity and fulfil the technical skills gap that exist in the country. These needs represent important opportunities for Australian VET providers. Furthermore, Mexican institutions have a great interest to develop relationships with interested providers that can provide trade and technical colleges with specialised qualifications.
