AISC APPROVAL

At its meeting on the 12 August 2020 the AISC approved the Maritime Training Package (Release 6.0) for referral to the Skills Ministers for endorsement.

FINAL DRAFT CASE FOR ENDORSEMENT

The draft Maritime Training Package materials have undergone independent edit and quality assurance.

The Case for Endorsement is scheduled to be submitted to the AISC in March 2020.

12 March 2019

This project is now incorporated into MAR Maritime Training Package Phase 3. The TAC is currently developing the draft Skill Sets.

Background

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned the review of the MAR Maritime Training Package. The project covers the revision of one existing Unit of Competency, the development of 10 Units of Competency and five new Skill Sets in response to regulatory requirements for safety systems and operating a range of specific vessels using oil, gas and low flashpoint fuels.

The expected submission of the Case for Endorsement will be submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) by 31 March 2020.

The Maritime Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project, which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with industry stakeholders. A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed.
