PUA12 Biosecurity Response

This project is part of the PUA12 Public Safety Training Package Transition Project.

Overview

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned the development of a Case for Change for developing new Training Package products within the PUA12 Public Safety Training Package. The new products will address revisions made to the Biosecurity Response Procedures as part of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Biosecurity (IGAB).

The Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of the development of the Case for Change, which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with Public Safety stakeholders.

The Case for Change considers the IGAB commitment to implementing a national suite of biosecurity response training and assessment materials, and covers the development of up to two new units of competency for inclusion within existing Biosecurity Response qualifications.

Business Case

This Business Case developed by the Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) sets out the strategic and evidentiary case (including an analysis of the level of industry support) for developing new Training Package products within the PUA12 Public Safety Training Package.

The Business Case will focus on, but is not limited to, setting out the case for developing two new units of competency;

  1. Apply biosecurity response procedures
  2. Conduct biosecurity response planning

The new products will address revisions made to the Biosecurity Response Procedures as part of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Biosecurity (IGAB).

We are seeking your input to ensure that the Business Case provides enough detail regarding the proposed development of the PUA12 Public Safety Training Package (Release 2.1).
