Endorsement

The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Skills Council has endorsed the Transport and Logistics Training Package for implementation.

Case for Endorsement

The approved Transport and Logistics Training Package (Release 6.0) is now available on training.gov.au.

The following materials were approved:

  • Qualifications
  • New/Revised Units
  • IRC Minor Changes – SSO Minor changes

The COAG Skills Council has endorsed Release 6.0 of the Transport and Logistics Training Package. Materials will be on training.gov.au soon.

AISC APPROVAL

At its meeting on Tuesday, 25 February 2020, the AISC approved the Transport and Logistics Training Package Release 6.0 for referral to the COAG Skills Council for endorsement.

CASE FOR ENDORSEMENT SUBMITTED TO AISC

The draft Training Package materials have been submitted to the AISC.

FINAL DRAFT CASE FOR ENDORSEMENT

The draft Training Package materials have undergone independent edit and quality assurance.

The Case for Endorsement is scheduled to be submitted to the AISC in December 2019.

This project will be incorporated into Release 6.0 of the TLI Training Package.

The release will include the following Transport and Logistics projects:

  • Chain of Responsibility
  • Freight Forwarding
  • Traffic Operations
  • Logistics Operations
  • Shared Equipment
  • Stevedoring Qualifications Review
  • Heavy Vehicle Driver Safety

Final draft materials are currently undergoing Quality Assurance.

Draft Material

The TAC has finalised draft materials for this project and would like your feedback.

Please note the following information regarding the replacement of existing Units of Competency in this project:

  • TLIC2002, TLIC3003, TLIC3004, TLIC3005 and TLIC4006 will be replaced by TLIC3037X* Apply safe heavy vehicle driving behaviours
  • TLIC1051 will be replaced by TLIC3036X Apply safe light vehicle driving behaviours
  • TLIF4095 will be replaced by TLIF3003 Implement and monitor work health and safety procedures

*Please note that the ‘X’ at the end of the code denotes the product is draft. Final product codes may differ.

Feedback on draft materials closed on Friday, 26 July 2019 for consideration by the TAC.

Feedback will be collated and discussed at the next TAC meeting.

In addition, feedback is requested as to whether the units

The Transport and Logistics IRC is currently forming a TAC for the Heavy Vehicle Driver Safety project.

Your industry expertise and insight is welcome to help review Skill Sets and Units of Competency to include new technologies for improving safety outcomes.

TAC nominations closed on Friday, 24 August 2018.

Background

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned the revision of six Skill Sets and 25 existing Units of Competency for the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package to include new technologies for improving safety outcomes.

The project incorporates the revision of:

  • Six Skill Sets
  • 25 Units of Competency

The Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project, which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with industry stakeholders. A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed.
