UEE Electrotechnology Training Package Review - Zero Enrolments

Project scope

Part of the UEE Electrotechnology Training Package Review Project is to consider deleting qualifications and Units of Competency that have had no enrolments over the last three years.

The Electrotechnology Industry Reference Committee (IRC) outlined the need for this in a brief to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee.

Deliverables

If no justification to retain the components is received, a recommendation for their removal will be made to the Electrotechnology IRC.

Timeline

The Case for Endorsement is expected to be submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee by 31 December 2019.

How to get involved

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed to provide expertise for this work.

If you are a subject matter expert and would like to be considered for the TAC please contact the Industry Manager.

Stakeholder feedback on draft training materials will be sought as part of the development phase of work.

The Electrotechnology IRC is now seeking feedback on the potential impact of removing the identified qualifications and Units of Competency from the UEE Electrotechnology Training Package.

Information about any use (inside or outside the National VET system) of the listed Training Package components is welcome; as is advice on why they are not currently being used and what could be undertaken to encourage enrolments.

The consultation period ran from Friday, 7 December 2018 until Sunday, 13 January 2019.

If no justification to retain the components is received, a recommendation for their removal will be made to the Electrotechnology IRC.

Summary of development

Draft units, skill sets and/or qualifications are developed in consultation with Subject Matter Experts and industry stakeholders.

Initial drafting of Training Package material (Units of Competency, Skill Sets and/or qualifications) is being undertaken by a Technical Advisory Committee established by the IRC. Comprising people with diverse expertise and experience in Gas Pipeline Emergency Repairs, it has ensured that the draft Units are informed by the needs of industry.
