UEP Remote Area Essential Service
Project scope
Changes in power generation technologies provides opportunities for remote area communities to increase support to ongoing power generation maintenance and repair, emergency technical response (generation plant breakdowns), and the ongoing monitoring and reporting of remote power generation installations.
The ESI Generation Industry Reference Committee (IRC) proposed to update the Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Service to include new power generation technology skills and provide clear vocational pathways to enhance employment opportunities for remote areas communities.
Deliverables
Review and develop:
- UEP20218 Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Service Qualification.
Timeline
The Case for Endorsement is expected to be submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee by 31 October 2020.
How to get involved
A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed to provide expertise for this work. If you are a subject matter expert and would like to be considered for the TAC please contact the Industry Manager.
Stakeholder feedback on draft training materials will be sought as part of the development phase of work.
