UEP Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package Transition Project

Overview

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned the transition of all UEP Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package components to the Standards for Training Packages 2012. The ESI Generation Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards in consultation with industry stakeholders. The project covers the transition of 13 qualifications, 4 Skill Sets and 241 Units of Competency.

    Endorsement

    The AISC has approved the Case for Endorsement for Training Package implementation.

    The approved UEP ESI – Generation Sector Training Package Release 1.0 is now available on training.gov.au.

    1 August 2018

    FINAL DRAFT CASE FOR ENDORSEMENT

    The draft Training Package materials have undergone independent edit and quality assurance, and are now available for viewing.

    Final drafts are scheduled to be submitted to the AISC in September 2018. (links have now been removed)

    Case for Change

    Essential Services Operator (ESO)

    The UEE21311 Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Service Qualification and relevant Units of Competency will be moved from the UEE11 Electrotechnology Training Package to the UEP ESI – Generation Training Package during the relevant Transition projects.

    Transitioning to the Standards for Training Packages 2012

    All Training Packages are required to comply with the Standards for Training Packages 2012. The Standards apply to the design and development of Training Packages for endorsement consideration by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee.

    The Standards for Training Packages 2012 are available at the Department of Education and Training website.
