UEP Transition Operations

This project is part of the UEP Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package Transition Project.

Overview

The ESI Generation Sector Industry Reference Committee (IRC) and industry stakeholders are undertaking the UEP12 Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package Transition project.
An Operations Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has been formed for this project for the transition of four qualifications and 155 associated Units of Competency to the Standards for Training Packages 2012. The qualifications include:

  • UEP20112 Certificate II in ESI Generation – Operations Support
  • UEP30212 Certificate III in ESI Generation – Operations
  • UEP40212 Certificate IV in ESI Generation – Operations
  • UEP50212 Diploma of ESI Generation (Operations)

Drafting finalised

The Operations TAC has completed development work on the draft materials. The draft materials will be reviewed by an independent Editor before going to the appointed QA panellist and will be made available for viewing after this process.

The IRC will approve the final drafts before this project, together with the Maintenance TAC material, will be submitted for endorsement.

The UEP12 Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package – Operations Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has been working on the transition of seven qualifications, four Skill Sets and 153 Units of Competency. The TAC has now made the drafts available for public consultation.

On Tuesday, 22 August 2017, the UEP12 ESI Generation Sector Training Package – Operations Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met and commenced transition work of 155 units of competency.

The key actions items coming out of this meeting are as follows :

  • Validation of the updated draft units to be completed by the members prior to the next TAC meeting
  • Agreement to make the updated draft units available for public consultation post the next TAC meeting

The next TAC meeting has been proposed for Wednesday, 11 October 2017.

Working with the ESI Generation Industry Reference Committee (IRC) and industry stakeholders, this project will commence with the transition of 4 qualifications and 152 associated units of competency to the Standards for Training Packages 2012. The qualifications include:

UEP20112 Certificate II in ESI Generation – Operations Support

UEP30212 Certificate III in ESI Generation – Operations

UEP40212 Certificate IV in ESI Generation – Operations

UEP50212 Diploma of ESI Generation (Operations)

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) responsible for this project will be formed in the coming weeks.

Following the initial meeting the ESI Generation IRC on Monday, 3 April 2017, priority activities for the transition of all UEP12 Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package products were agreed. The IRC is currently working on the finalisation of the transition project plan, including the establishment of Technical Advisory Committees.
