Case for Endorsement Companion Volume Implementation Guide Qualifications Skill Sets Units of Competency

The Case for Endorsement is scheduled to be submitted to the AISC in May 2019.

4 December 2018

Following the review of initial drafts by the IRC, further work to ensure consistency of the Units of Competency was identified to be undertaken. An extension to the project delivery date was requested by the IRC to the AISC, which was approved. The project submission is now due by 13 May 2019.

The updated draft materials will be reviewed by the TAC groups at workshops in late February 2019, and then submitted to the IRC for their consideration and approval.

The draft materials will be available for viewing after an independent edit and quality assurance review.

The ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail IRC will then submit the final drafts to the AISC for endorsement.

The ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail Industry Certificate III Technical Advisory Committee has completed development work on the draft materials.

The draft materials will be available for viewing after an independent edit and quality assurance review.

The ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail IRC will approve the final drafts before they are submitted for endorsement.

The ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail Industry Certificate III Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has progressed the transition work on five qualifications,18 Skill Sets and 66 Units of Competency for the UET12 Transmission, Distribution and Rail Training Package.

The ESI Certificate III TAC has made the drafts available for public feedback.

4 August 2017

On Monday, 31 July 2017, the ESI Certificate III Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met and commenced the transition of 5 qualifications and 55 associated units of competency.

The TAC agreed to:

  • Update unit UETTDRTP26X and use as an exemplar for transition
  • Begin validation of the draft units and provide feedback by COB 6th Sept, 2017

The next TAC meeting is scheduled for Monday, 18  September 2017.

The ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail Industry Reference Committee (IRC) in coordination with Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is currently undertaking the transition of the UET12 ESI Transmission, Distribution and Rail Training Package.

The scope of this project is to transition 5 qualifications and 55 associated units of competency to the Standards for Training Packages 2012. The qualifications include:

Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Distribution Overhead

Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Distribution Cable Jointing

Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Rail Traction

Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Transmission Overhead

Certificate III in ESI – Remote Community Utilities Worker

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) responsible for this project will be formed in the coming weeks.
