TLISC and the Department of Education and Training host Indonesian Delegation

Following on from our involvement in the APEC and IORA projects, TLISC and the Department of Education hosted 3 delegates from Indonesia for visits in Sydney conducted over 2 days in relation to the delivery of T&L qualifications by public providers in an industry-led system. The delegates were from two entities involved in the APEC and IORA projects being managed by TLISC for the Department of Education and Training: the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (MOMT), and the Indonesian Professionals Certification Authority (BNSP).

The expertise and experiences of a public training provider in an industry-led VET system are of interest to Indonesia at this time. The purpose of the visit was to engage with public training providers delivering transport and logistics training and qualifications. Visits to the Sydney Institute, the South Western Sydney Institute and the Western Sydney Institute provided a cross section of approaches, geographic and demographic issues, strategy and experience and a basis for comprehensive discussion. We look forward to ongoing progress with all our project partners in implementing a system consistent with the requirements of their nations’ strategies.

The APEC and IORA projects related to the development of occupational standards in the transport & logistics, and port sectors within the Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean Rim. This initiatives focus on supporting economic advantages, including increased productivity, trade and skilled labour mobility.
